The Battle of the Red and Whites

The Battle of the Red and Whites

How can a person or people live up to
high expectations? They know the odds are against them, they know some incidents have held them and still do hold them back.

As the red and white team take position facing the surprising strong and confidant team of white and green, the skipper injured, but still hanging on to a seemingly lost hope. She knows in her heart that her mates will try their best to set her up well enough to take a gutsy stand. But no one does, or can. The red and white mates standing in the back have a hard time keeping in line and standing with confidence. They appear not ready to block any strikes
that threaten. Meanwhile
their keeper shows extreme readiness and is able to save
her band of red and white many a time. They have lost their sharp awareness that they had previously.

The keeper, exhausted, lets it sadly fly by, leaving the red and whites vulnerable were the back mates. The important event ends with the green and white team joyously excited and proud. While the red and white team hang their heads in defeat, ashamed that they did not live up to the high expectations, they forget that they still do have supporters.

Even though they did not win the battle that showed their worthiness (or lack their of,) their people know, and they know, that
they will show worthiness on home soil in 4 years where they stand to do battle once again. That
is where it will show, they're worthy of the title, they can have a better fight, they are worthy of our pride. This war comes to an end for the red and whites, as they have been defeated in 3 battles. They will be strong and sowill their people!
